Sudoku Pagoda - Ancient Crossword Substitute

First of all I have to warn you that Sudoku game is not the one that has won an army of addicted players that cannot live a day without solving Sudoku. Nothing of the kind. Sudoku is the meditative puzzle that requires time, patience and concentration. People solve Sudoku in an effort to forget the things that filled their head during the business day in the manner they would solve a crossword. "So, what can be so addictive about it?" - one might ask.

It's a player's concentration and willingness to come to the end of puzzle that makes numbers of players all over the world scratch their heads over Sudoku.

Su-do-ku... What a strange name... Yeah, it's strange. Because the puzzle was invented in Japan, its name is an abbreviation of Japanese words "Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru", "Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru", which means "the digits must remain single".

The playing field of the game is a 9x9 grid, split into 3x3 subgrids also called regions. In Sudoku Pagoda, the grid size may vary from from 3x3 to 16x16.

Your task is to fill the whole grid with the numbers 1 through 9. However, it is essential that each numeral should be used only once in each row and column.

So, as we're done with the rules, let's proceed to the practical part. Start the game and choose the easiest 4x4 grid and Novice game modes. It will take you a couple of minutes just to grasp the main idea - and then you can proceed to more complicated grids. That's where the most interesting part of the game begins.

By the way, if, you're bored with the numbers, you may switch to a different type of skins like letters, geometrics or hieroglyphs. Though it might be more interesting, it is unlikely to make your task easier: ).
